Personnel costs expected to increase NT$42 billion with all employed doctors to be covered under Labor Standards Act in 2019

National Health Insurance can’t make ends meet and is under the pressure for higher premiums. The healthcare reform group pointed out that the inclusion of doctors in the labor law may lead to an increase in medical costs and further increase the pressure for higher premiums, and the government should review the healthcare issues pertaining to inappropriate medical benefits and the payment of prescription drugs. The medical profession believes that in the case of limited healthcare funds, it is necessary to adjust the status quo of unlimited provision of medical services, and to reasonably increase co-payment fees for patients.
