MOHW: Overseas organ transplant information must be completed by the end of this year
2018/10/09

Reported by Chen Jun-kai from Taipei

Organ transplants in China have always been associated with “live organ harvesting,” “forced organ harvesting” and disputes on organ trade and human rights. Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) lawmaker Chao Tien-lin, at today’s interpellation session of the Legislative Yuan meeting, said that official records showed that over 3100 people had organ transplant overseas but out of which only 108 registered required information. Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOHW) has requested hospitals to complete the required information for the organ transplant registration by the end of this year; those who fail to do so will face firm action.
