Reported by Zhang Ming-xuan from Taipei

The National Health Administration (NHIA) implemented a new reimbursement system on January 1 this year, which reduced insurance payments for overseas treatment and aimed to prevent unscrupulous people from defrauding the system. As a result, the saved costs would be used to take care of domestic patients. According to NHIA statistics, as of the end of June, the new system has reduced the payments by NT$68.35 million or 42% compared to the same period last year.
