The influenza vaccine produced by French manufacturer Sanofi Pasteur imported in two batches – R3J711V, R3J71 containing 438,000 doses and R3J721V, R3J72 containing 80,000 doses – have been put on hold after black suspended matter was found in 4 vials of R3J71 and white suspended matter in 9 vials of R3J72. Over 510,000 doses of vaccine will be returned to Sanofi. The problematic vials have been sent back to the headquarters in France for testing and the headquarters will find out the causes of abnormalities as soon as possible, Sanofi said.
