Ministry of Science and Technology furthers GLORIA project with China Medical University in building leading biotechnology alliance

To further alliances linking researchers and industries, the Ministry of Science and Technology and the China Medical University have joined forces in creating the leading biotechnology alliance GLORIA and welcomes the participation of companies in the sector to elevate competitiveness on the world stage.

To achieve this objective, the China Medical University has actively integrated its research capacity with Taiwan’s medical institutions, setting sights on the three niche areas of smart assistive devices, artificial intelligence and blockchain. The alliance aims to harness the global entrepreneurial efforts to build a new hub for leading biotechnology, precision medical implants and blockchain-enabled services in central Taiwan.

In the alliance, China Medical University is set to provide the foundation to build leading research platforms for cellular immunotherapy, precision medicine, pharmaceutical manufacturing, AI health management applications, medical devices and smart assistive devices and blockchain technology.

At the same time, the alliance provides matching of top talent from businesses and academia to accelerate development of Taiwan’s overall healthcare industry and tap into the global market for products with high economic value. In addition, the alliance hopes to connect innovations across the globe with Taiwan’s reputable manufacturing capacity.
