Taiwan bans airline passenger transits through the country starting March 24 until April 7
2020/03/27

The Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) on March 22 announced that as the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreak has become a global pandemic, the number of imported cases have also continued to rise. To prevent the spread of the virus from passenger flights, all transit of airline passengers through Taiwan will be suspended between midnight of March 24 Taipei Standard Time and April 7 to decrease the cross-border movement of people and to reduce the risk of further disease transmission.

The CECC said that upon reentry, Taiwanese nationals must fill out health declaration forms truthfully and accurately and comply with home quarantine notices. Those with fevers, coughs and other symptoms must proactively notify quarantine officials of their conditions and comply with all relevant quarantine protocols. Those who become symptomatic within 14 days of reentering Taiwan may dial 1922 (or 0800-001922) to access the toll-free quarantine hotline. These are advised to follow any given instructions and seek medical attention while wearing face masks as well as declare relevant histories on travel, profession, contact and cluster to physicians for timely diagnosis and tracking.
